Election Celebration - Addendum
In all my focus on the runoff yesterday, I forgot to congratulate next year's '09 cabinet. However, this is very important for everybody in our class, so...
Congratulations to:
- Vice President Mary Han (formerly Freshman Secretary)
- Secretary Jenny Ham (first-time ASB Member)
- Treasurer Tony Park (formerly Seventh Grade President)
I'd also like to thank the class candidates who didn't make it this year. Just the knowledge that you ran for office to help your class speaks volumes about your integrity and courage. Hopefully you'll try out for the Inner Council for next year (if I have anything to say about it, anyways).
Additional congratulations to:
- Presidential Candidate Ariel Improta (formerly Eighth Grade President)
- Vice Presidential Candidate Jonathan Yang (no prior ASB experience)
- Secretarial Candidate Cindy Lu (formerly Freshman Treasurer)
- Treasurial Candidate Wendy Ku (no prior ASB experience)
All the candidates ran great campaigns, and hopefully everybody can throw their support to the one race left for our class. Voting is on Tuesday, everybody!
Today's Helpful Hint From Will: The famous quote "Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair" is actually a misquote. The real line, from Percy Bysshe Shelley's poem "Ozymandias", is "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:/Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!". The "upon" is really an "on". Iambic pentameter. Stuff like that. So your hint is not to misquote it.

Thanks to everybody for your enthusiastic comments. Although Brian might be a bit too enthusiastic. Sorry, man, I don't swing that way.

Well, reassuring abbreviations to you too, Tony. Can I count on your vote?
And you, Mary? Don't you abstain on me now!

it's such a hard choice, there's the guy i've known since kindergarden, then their's will stabile, this year's president, on the spot always funny. it's hard not to abstain, but i lean more towards experience, and being middle school president was hard, i can only image how hard it was this year, so i think you can now know who i'm leaning towards.

Well, thanks, anonymous Tony. No one ever said you were going to make an easy choice. You just have to make the right choice.
By the way, this is officially my most-commented post.
